Rate this Recipe

Serves 1 loaf

Crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle.

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups warm water
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
4 cups flour
1/4 cup olive oil, more for greasing
2 teaspoons kosher salt
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Combine the warm water and sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Then add the flour, olive oil, and kosher salt to the mixing bowl. Stir until a sticky dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes, until about double in size.
  3. Pour a small amount of olive oil into a baking pan. Use a paper towel to coat the pan with the olive oil. Transfer the dough to the pan.
  4. Create dimples in the dough with your fingertips. Sprinkle the minced garlic, grated Parmesan over the top. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  6. Place the pan in the oven. Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
