20-Minute Marinara Sauce

Serves 1 quart

Once you try this recipe, you won't buy jarred sauce again!

Ingredients:

12 tomatoes, fresh
Salt, to taste
2 cloves garlic, finely diced
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Ground black pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
4 basil leaves, fresh and torn

Directions:

  1. Heat a deep pot to medium, pour in olive oil and garlic. Sauté until garlic has golden color.
  2. Crush tomatoes with your hands into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Pour tomatoes with any liquid into the pot and gently stir.
  4. Season pot with salt, pepper and sugar. Add basil leaves, stir all ingredients together. Reduce heat and let pot simmer for 20 minutes.
