20-Minute Marinara Sauce





Serves 1 quart
Once you try this recipe, you won't buy jarred sauce again!
Ingredients:
| 12 tomatoes, fresh |
| Salt, to taste |
| 2 cloves garlic, finely diced |
| 1/2 teaspoon sugar |
| Ground black pepper, to taste |
| 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil |
| 4 basil leaves, fresh and torn |
Directions:
- Heat a deep pot to medium, pour in olive oil and garlic. Sauté until garlic has golden color.
- Crush tomatoes with your hands into a large mixing bowl.
- Pour tomatoes with any liquid into the pot and gently stir.
- Season pot with salt, pepper and sugar. Add basil leaves, stir all ingredients together. Reduce heat and let pot simmer for 20 minutes.
